Pick an instrument and a scale
Choose a sound — piano, French horn, synth and more — then set a root note and a scale. Switching instruments takes a second and replays everything you already have with the new sound.
Play the keys and hit record
Play with your mouse, your touchscreen, or the Z X C V B N M and Q W E R T Y U I rows on your keyboard. Press Record and everything you play is captured in time, bar by bar.

One click drops your recording into the piano roll as note blocks. Drag them to move, pull the edges to change length, delete what you do not want — your take becomes something you can edit.

- Can I record myself playing the piano?
- Yes. Press Record and play the keys — your notes are captured in time against the transport clock. When you stop, one click adds the take to the piano roll, where every note stays fully editable.
- Can I fix a recording after I play it?
- Yes. In the piano roll your recording becomes note blocks you can drag to a different pitch or beat, resize to change length, or delete. Nothing is baked in, so a nearly-right take is easy to tidy up.
- Can I change the instrument?
- Yes. Pick a new instrument from the dropdown at any point and what you have already played comes back with the new sound — no need to record it again.
- Do I need to know music theory?
